My dad and I brought his BRZ and my MINI to Thompson for an SCCA Track Night in America event today. Fun times were had and my brake fluid was properly boiled (seriously, my brakes now need to be bled so bad you can hear it squidging when you touch the pedal). Sadly, no on track SR20 until the track photographers upload their photos.

Nice! Bleeding brakes before and after every track day will be a thing if you’re driving hard. Assuming you’re doing more of them, keep an eye on wheel bearings on the mini. Constant high-g cornering and doing most of the work combined with the high residual heat from the front brakes tends to make front wheel bearings on FWD cars shorter-lived than you might expect on the track

Fun! Always smart to replace your brake fluid with higher temp stuff before a track day. Glad you didn’t end up with a nasty off!

A flush to DOT 4 is going to happen before I do my next track event. I thought that with only 115HP I wouldn’t be going super fast but it turns out that the MINI is actually quick enough to stay within sniffing distance of the BRZs etc over most of the track.

A flush to DOT 4 is on the cards before I go to another track day. I’m probably not going to be doing more than 1 or 2 track events a year but I am expecting to wear bearings etc autocrossing.

Yeah, you’re just working the brakes so much harder at the track than on the street, even in something with less power.
